Reverse the Mindset

Reverse the Mindset

Reverse the MindsetMost of us want to be economically independent but are we strategically positioned to be viable in the source endeavor? Knowingly or unknowingly each of us makes a choice with our thoughts and actions. Cumulatively our choices and actions compound to give results we naively choose or strategically carve for the future long term.

According to Isaac Newton’s first law of motion, “a body will continue to be in its state of rest unless acted on by an impressed force”. Synonymously, act or be acted upon.

Whilst the environment where an individual grew up could be a significant strain on the ability to break free from financial constraints, I believe such a disadvantage could potentially be a motivating factor to restlessly cause us to continuously search for an opportunity and work extremely harder to change the situation. Clarity of purpose, passion to succeed and a well thought out strategy would be an important ingredient for a head start.

To ensure economic freedom or a state in which one is financially independent, one should not be idle about his or her financial vision but should actively formulate ways, create objectives and use tools that cause him/her to consistently act. Inspire yourself with a force that pushes tasks that create results and open options that continually increases the probability of economic freedom. It is dependent on you, the individual, to act. Don’t just sit around!.

Failure to take control would allow passiveness and the passage of time to missed opportunities. The need to actively scan the environment for investment opportunities, delayed self-gratification, developing your entrepreneurship skills, being among people better than ourselves, developing and improving expertise in a valuable field are but a few of the acts that can be embarked upon to tilt the positive options.

Conversely, failure to proactively act would eventually lead us to being acted upon by recession, competition, sense of failure, poor health and the feeling of time wastage and procrastination.

Philip Brooks intelligently briefed it in his quote, “Someday, in years to come, you will be wrestling with the great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But the real struggle is here, now, in these quiet weeks. Now it is being decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or temptation, you shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long-continued process”.

Therefore imagine and forcefully create a vision for your financial future, create goals, determine the tasks that set your feet on the winning path and develop the values that urge you on to succeed. And don’t lose the courage to seek support from those who have walked the path.

For there is no greater relief in life than to realize your dream and to be able to offer  a helping hand to those that need it and to focus on the things that do truly matter.
